Our wonderful family has a legacy very much worth exploring. I recently returned from my visit to southern Ohio and wanted to share some cherished photos and memories below. Top row: (L) A lovely picture of Lucile at three years old. She has a slightly melancholy smile in this special photo. Next is a photo capturing "four generations" of our family. Lucile's sister, Margaret, is at the bottom; Lucile hadn't been born yet. Lucile's mother, Caroline Wright, at the top of the photo, worked in a tobacco factory for most of her life after losing her husband, Walter Wright, in a tragic motorcycle accident early in their marriage. Caroline's mother is pictured (far right) and grandmother (far left). In the top row, the 3rd photo is of Walter Wright, who was a skilled violinist and music instructor. His violin remains in my music studio to this very day. He taught music at a small college in Ohio. 4th photo. A family gathering on Sunday in Lynchburg, Ohio. Lucile and her sister Margaret are at the bottom of the photo with bows in their hair. Walter and Caroline are shown on the far left.

2nd row, top left. The Dunseith family gravestone is where Lucile's sister Margaret, who married into the family, is remembered. Margaret died young, battling addiction and an unhappy marriage. Beside her marker is the Oester family marker. I repositioned the Civil War memorial marker, which can be seen in front of the gravestone at the cemetery. Next (right) is a high school photo of Lucile's beautiful daughter, Carolyn Himes, and to the right, her recent footstone placed beneath her Mother's gravestone. Carolyn was deeply loved by her mother, Lucile, and chose to give the gift of life to all of her seven children. Far right: the marker for Lucile and her mother, which Mi Won and I had made for both of them after Lucile's passing. Third row: The two gravestones of Caroline's parents and the gravestone of Walter Wright, Lucile's father. (During the early part of the twentieth-century, there was a significant influx of German immigrants to this area of southern Ohio)

The final three photos feature me with my Father, Robert Llewellyn Brown, and Lucile and me at the piano following my performance of "Rhapsody in Blue" with an orchestra by George Gershwin at the age of twelve. (Lucile had just discovered a tuxedo the day before for me at a local thrift shop in Middletown, Ohio.) It was a very joyful day for Lucile. And, last but not least, there's a photo of my cherished collie Laddie, who enjoyed carrying papers in my saddlebag when I wasn't riding a bicycle.

Blessings to all,

Tim

I have included pictures and info from the Lynchburg New Masonic Cemetery along with the exciting surprise of finding out that a number of the well-known theologian, Norman Vincent Peale’s family members are also buried in this same cemetery. metery

Above picture - (bottom) Lucile’s older sister Margaret, Lucile had not been born yet. (Right) Margaret Oester, Caroline’s Mother - German ancestry. (Top) Caroline, Lucile’s Mother. She died when I was three years old. I remember her rocking me on the front porch of the Middletown house. She lost

her husband, Walter Wright, at a very young age and worked in a tobacco factory in Dayton, Ohio, until her death. Far right - Obviously Margaret Oster’s Mother. I could not find her gravestone. With Carolyn's passing recently, our family has five generations now buried at the Lynchburg New Mesonic Cemetary in Lynchburg, Ohio.

“Hello to my small yet mighty family. It was an important moment in our family’s history as I spent time recently in the city and cemetery of Lynchburg, Ohio. I felt a humbling yet solitary moment in our family's history was finally being realized so many years after their passing. We all should be proud of our heritage, I try every day to give “gratitude” for their sacrifices and contributions that allow us to have such a beautiful life.”
