My favorite performance of the Gerald Finzi "Eclogue" for Piano and String Orchestra. An English composer that embodied the soul of the English spirit in ways that few other composers could ever express in their writing. Contemporary music that "touches the heart" with sincerity and the masterful understanding of the piano as an equal partner to the chamber orchestra. Both the piano and the orchestra are absorbed in the fabric of Finzi's counterpoint in such a pure and magical way.
